Best for
- Buyers deciding between two Levoit smart purifiers
- Bedrooms versus larger living rooms
- People sizing by CADR instead of one-ACH coverage
Watch for
- Paying for the 400S when 141 CFM already meets your target
- Comparing only the largest room-size marketing number
- Ignoring the larger filter and ownership cost of the bigger unit
Core 300S: smaller footprint, 141 CFM CADR
Levoit currently lists the Core 300S at 141 CFM CADR, 219 ft² at 4.8 ACH and 1,051 ft² at 1 ACH. Rated power is 23 W and the published noise range is 22–50 dB.
That makes it a sensible fit when your room-size calculation lands comfortably below its airflow ceiling.
Core 400S: 231 CFM for larger rooms
Levoit lists the Core 400S at 231 CFM CADR, 358 ft² at 4.8 ACH and 1,718 ft² at 1 ACH. Rated power is 38 W, with a published 22–52 dB noise range.
The main practical advantage is airflow. If you need around 200+ CFM, the 300S is simply the wrong size even if its one-ACH coverage number looks large.
Which one should you buy?
Run the room through our CADR calculator. If the target is well under 141 CFM, the 300S may be the efficient choice. If the target approaches or exceeds that figure, the 400S gives materially more margin.
For sleep-sensitive users, extra capacity can also help because a larger purifier may meet the needed airflow at a lower fan setting.
Use the same sizing basis across brands. Room-size claims can use different air-change assumptions. When possible, compare published CADR and calculate the airflow your room actually needs.
