Formula
Annual electricity use = watts ÷ 1,000 × hours per day × 365. Annual electricity cost = annual kWh × your electricity rate. Filter cost is added separately so a low-watt purifier with expensive filters does not look artificially cheap.
Use measured power when possible
Rated wattage is a planning input. Real consumption can vary by fan speed and automatic modes. For the most accurate estimate, use a plug-in energy meter and enter the average power draw you actually observe.
Compare like with like. Two purifiers can have similar purchase prices but very different five-year costs once filter replacements and continuous operation are included.
