Use active runtime, not simply 24 hours

A humidistat-controlled dehumidifier can cycle off after reaching the target humidity. If it is plugged in all day but the compressor is active only part of that time, use the estimated or measured active hours instead of 24.

Capacity and efficiency are different

ENERGY STAR defines dehumidifier capacity in pints removed per 24 hours under test conditions and uses Integrated Energy Factor in liters per kilowatt-hour to compare efficiency. A higher IEF means more moisture removed per unit of electricity.
